Royal blue Pat silk holds a special place in the Assamese handloom heritage. Sourced from the finest mulberry silkworms, each thread is dyed in a deep royal blue hue before being spun onto the traditional loom.
The motifs woven into this fabric—typically the delicate 'Phool' (flower) and 'Gach' (tree) designs—are crafted using pure silver or contrasting gold zari threads. These patterns require weeks of meticulous hand-weaving, making each Mekhela Sador a unique piece of art that carries the soul of the weaver.
Wearing royal blue Pat silk is not just a fashion statement; it is a celebration of centuries of handloom mastery passed down through generations of rural Assamese artisans.
